Leadership isn't claimed.It's trained. It's tested.
It's honored.

We train professionals and teams
to flight deck standards.
To navigate change, elevate performance
and lead with purpose.

01 — The origin

In aviation,
even the emergency
has a procedure.

Aviation operates under some of the most demanding standards in the world: every procedure is written, trained and audited. In most professional environments that level of rigor simply doesn't exist. And in our own lives, almost never — who has their own standards defined, in writing?

That is the real gap. What isn't written can't be trained, and what isn't trained runs on the willpower of the moment.

Real performance isn't measured on the good days. It's measured in thinking clearly when everything is urgent, in deciding with judgment when information is missing, and in holding to what you set out to do when no one is watching.

That is the work of the HOPPE System: training you so that your purpose doesn't stay an intention, but becomes standards you have already defined, practiced and chosen to honor.

Leadership
that outlives the leader.

02 — The HOPPE System

Three phases.
One way to operate.

The HOPPE System is the firm's training method: the one that takes a person to navigate change, elevate performance and lead with purpose. It is built on flight deck standards and structured in three phases. It starts from one conviction: no one holds high standards for long without being clear on what they are for.

In the first phase you define who you are and the standards you choose to live and lead by: that goes in writing into your Personal Operating Code. In the second you turn that direction into concrete decisions — your Flight Plan. In the third you take the system into real operation and verify it with your Fit to Operate Model. You finish with clarity, judgment and consistency: standards of your own — written, trained and verified — and far greater coherence between who you are, how you live and how you lead.

ALTITUDE FL 100 FL 200 FL 350 CONTINUOUS OPERATION PHASE 1 PHASE 2 PHASE 3 THE STANDARDS HOLD THROUGH THE TURBULENCE RECURRENT EVERY 6 MONTHS

PHASE 1

Elevate

TRUE NORTH + STANDARDS

You define who you are, the principles that guide you, what your mission is, and the standards you choose to live and lead by.

ResultClarityYour Personal Operating Code: the written reference that governs your decisions.

Closes withSigning your Code

No one leads on the outside what they haven't ordered on the inside.

PHASE 2

Evolve

ROUTE + PREPARATION

You weigh options, priorities and risks, and turn your direction into concrete decisions and a route you can actually fly.

ResultJudgmentYour Flight Plan: the decisions made on the ground, so you don't have to make them in the air.

Closes withSigning your Flight Plan

You won't always have all the information. That is exactly why you need judgment.

PHASE 3

Excel

OPERATION + VERIFICATION

You take the system into real operation — managing threats and errors, holding yourself accountable, and adjusting the route when conditions change.

ResultConsistencyYour Fit to Operate Model: your condition to operate, verified rather than assumed.

Closes withThe Line Check: your progress against your starting point

Turbulence comes for everyone. Preparation determines how you fly through it.

The HOPPE System in practice

Change is measured in how you decide,
not only in how you feel.

This is what you can expect once you start operating with the system.

  • From firefightingto flying a plan
  • From losing focus when pressure risesto knowing what to handle first
  • From hiding the errorto catching and correcting it before it escalates
  • From saying what's expectedto saying what needs to be said
  • From going with the currentto holding a course of your own, in writing
  • From running on willpowerto running on procedures

The system has a graduation point: the day life puts it to the test — and what you trained holds.

What continues after that — every six months — is recurrent training. Just as in any airline: no captain ever stops training.

03 — Flight log

I haven't spent my life
talking about leadership.
I've lived it.

I lived it on flight decks, where one decision can cost lives. I lived it leading teams, at the head of organizations, and in decisions that allowed no rehearsal. But I also lived it outside aviation: in ventures, and in financial and personal crises that forced me to start over more than once.

For years I saw the same pattern: talent matters, but it isn't enough. Without preparation, judgment and a system to operate by, even the most capable people fail to sustain their level or to complete the mission entrusted to them.

Guillermo F. Hoppe
Guillermo F. Hoppe · Founder

That conviction took shape on the flight deck, in the study of leadership, and in my own process: I have reached great goals and I have rebuilt from zero. Both taught me the same lesson: the first leadership is the leadership of yourself.

Pressure doesn't build character.
It reveals it.

35+

Years of experience

Across aviation, business and international leadership. Experience turned into judgment: the only part of all of it that transfers.

16–23years old

From first solo to Boeing 737 captain

At 16 I flew solo for the first time. At 19 I was a Boeing 737 first officer; at 20, an Airbus A320 first officer; and at 23, a Boeing 737 captain.

The command seat stopped being an achievement and became a school of maturity, judgment and responsibility.

24–44years old

Instructor and entrepreneur

I became an instructor and trained more than 30 airline pilots.

Alongside that, over the years, I built ventures across several industries —food and beverage, aviation staffing, network marketing of supplements and beverages— going through more than one financial crisis along the way.

45–48years old

Director General of Civil Aviation and ICAO Council

I led the full redesign of the authority under two international audits.

I then represented Costa Rica on the Council of ICAO —the United Nations specialized agency for aviation— through the COVID-19 recovery.

49years old

New beginnings

A purpose and a way of life forged over decades of discipline and consistency led me to found HOPPE in 2022.

The method had already been running since 2018 under another name: that is where the HOPPE System was born.

51years old

Trial by fire

I put the system to the test on myself by graduating from the Men of War Crucible, an elite personal development program.

Eight weeks of virtual training culminating in four days of extreme physical, mental and emotional demand: close to 40 % of participants do not finish.

TODAY

My mission

I train people to live and lead with purpose.

Because you don't lead on strategy alone: you lead with body, soul and spirit aligned.

My vision

A generation of leaders whose lives grow
at the same pace as their results.

04 — Why fly with me

Who sits in the
other seat matters.

You have just seen the system. What follows is who runs it.

1

I am an instructor before I am an advisor

I trained airline pilots with the discipline of an industry where the margin for error is minimal. Today I bring those same standards to leadership and to life, through a system of my own: the HOPPE System.

2

I tell you what no one else will

The higher the position, the fewer people contradict you. I don't depend on your org chart or your approval, so I can give you the honest read even when it stings. The decision is still yours.

3

Pressure is nothing new to me

From the flight deck to the ICAO Council, and through crises that forced me to rebuild. When the pressure rises, it isn't the first time I have been there — nor the first time I have stood beside someone who is.

4

I live what I teach

My way of life is the evidence. I keep myself Fit to Operate: in aviation that means meeting the standards required to operate safely. Body, soul and spirit — including the days it costs.

You have control.
I'm in the right seat.

What those who have trained say

A program that genuinely changed my life. Every session left me with something concrete to practice, and the results are remarkable.

Nelson · CEO of a business group · Client since 2022

The methodology and the guidance helped me redefine my priorities, my purpose and, above all, find a balance between the personal and the professional. It has been one of the best investments in my own development: the results show in my daily performance and in my quality of life.

Diego · President, Design Agency

The Elevate, Evolve & Excel program had a very large impact on my personal and working life. Extremely well structured, focused on ordering goals and habits, but above all on the search for purpose. I learned tools I applied even inside my company. I can do nothing but recommend it. (The Elevate, Evolve & Excel program is today the HOPPE System.)

Gianluca · Co-Founder, Off Road Tents

Inspired, committed and full of energy, Guillermo always brought a human touch to our deliberations at the ICAO Council — a spiritual quality that is rare in the world of international negotiation.

Richard Ossendorp · Former Representative, ICAO Council

During his term on the ICAO Council he demonstrated great strategic vision. His leadership was decisive in reaching a satisfactory outcome in the hardest crisis our sector has faced: the pandemic. For his commitment and his candor, he has earned my genuine respect and admiration.

Sebastián Currás · Alternate Representative, ICAO Council

The future isn't improvised.
It's designed.

It all starts
with the diagnostic.

One session to read your real situation: which standards you already hold and which you don't, and whether this training is for you. The program recommendation comes out of that. In person in Costa Rica or remote, in English or Spanish.

This training is not for someone looking for motivation, nor for someone who cannot sustain a process of several months. If what you need is clinical care, I will tell you so and refer you.

Executive mentoring · one-on-one

Your purpose
needs a pilot.

No one arrives here for lack of ability. You arrive by accumulation:
more responsibility, less margin, and a life quietly mortgaged
in exchange for results that do arrive. HOPPE exists so you don't have to choose.

A pilot doesn't take off without a flight plan.
Here you build yours: who you are as a leader, where you are going
and the standards you will operate by.

Before takeoff

What usually sits behind a first conversation.

You hit the goals and something doesn't add up

The results are there: targets met, recognition, stability. What isn't there is the life you were going to have once you reached them.

You have something big in your hands

A business to build, a career jump, a decision that will define the next several years. And you want to go in with a plan, not improvising as you go.

It is time to change course

You closed a chapter, your role changed, or the pace you were keeping stopped making sense. You know something has to change — and you want to do it with method, not on impulse.

You want altitude, not another course

The decision to invest in yourself is already made. You want a structured process and someone who won't let you lower the bar — not more content that gets filed away.

Choose your route

Before choosing there are two optional steps: the Briefing, which is the read of your starting point, and Pre-Flight, which adds two sessions to turn those findings into concrete decisions.

Then there are two routes. Both cover the complete HOPPE System; the difference is how long the training runs — and that only Route 2 includes the flight simulator.

Briefing

diagnostic

Before setting the course, you have to know who the pilot in command is

The PDA or TOV assessment reveals your behavioral profile, your talents and your drivers; in one conversation we turn it into an honest read of your starting point — in data, with no assumptions. No further commitment.

  • Online PDA or TOV assessment (10–15 minutes): behavioral profile, natural talents and drivers
  • Debrief session and interpretation of results (60 minutes)
  • Written read of your starting point and a route recommendation

Pre-Flight

diagnostic applied

The diagnostic, and what to do with what it reveals

A diagnostic is worthless if it stops at the report. Here you leave with the read of your starting point and your first moves already defined: what you change, in what order, and by what criteria.

  • Everything in the BRIEFING, plus:
  • Two 90-minute sessions to turn the findings into concrete decisions
  • Your first-moves plan, in writing
  • A route recommendation grounded in evidence, not intuition

  • Phase 1 · 3 sessions. Closes with the signing of your Personal Operating Code
  • Phase 2 · 3 sessions. Closes with the signing of your Flight Plan
  • Phase 3 · 3 sessions. Closes with your Fit to Operate Model and the Line Check in a facilitated scenario

The monthly installment is the same on both routes: $750. What changes is how long the training runs.

Both routes close with the Line Check. On Route 1 it runs in a facilitated scenario; on Route 2, in the flight simulator and under load.

If you move from Route 1 to Route 2 within the first 60 days, everything you paid is credited.

Pricing valid through December 31, 2026.

The simulator is not the program. It is the one place where you can watch yourself decide.

For boards and high-exposure operations there is a bespoke annual engagement. Discussed case by case.

After the route

No captain
ever stops training.

A pilot doesn't keep diplomas. A pilot keeps a logbook, and that logbook has value precisely because it never stops growing. Every six months you return to a new scenario, harder than the last and built on your own Operating Code. The person is not being graded: what is verified is whether the standards you wrote held.

Recurrent

per session

No annual commitment · graduates only

Two hours: preparation, scenario and debrief. You close with a stamped page in your logbook, covering the six observed dimensions and the comparison against your baseline.

  • Prior self-assessment and one external observation from your accountability partner
  • You choose which dimensions you want pushed hardest
  • Recorded debrief, no defending: you speak first
  • Recalibration of your Flight Plan for the next six months

The process

It all starts with
a conversation

1

Coffee with Guillermo

In person or by video call: we talk through your situation, where you want to go, and how HOPPE can contribute.

You land with an outside read of your situation.

2

Diagnostic and recommendation

You choose the option from the menu and define the goal and the outcomes you want. With that we assess your starting point.

You land with clarity on where you stand and what is missing.

3

We define the mission

We translate the diagnostic into a strategic plan: the objective, the checkpoints and the resources it will require. You review it, confirm the course and authorize takeoff.

You land with a proposal built for you.

Guillermo F. HoppeFounder of HOPPE

That first conversation is on HOPPE. The rest is your call.

Book
Before you sign

Sessions

90 minutes, booked at least 48 hours in advance. Rescheduling with 24 hours' notice; one free reschedule per phase. Sessions not used within the program period do not roll over.

Messaging channel

Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 18:00 Costa Rica time, with a reply within 24 business hours. It is not an emergency or crisis line: if what you are going through calls for that, I will tell you so and refer you.

Flight simulator

Simulator sessions are exclusive to Route 2 and are included in its price. Each is a two-hour block: 30 minutes of briefing, 60 in the simulator and 30 of debriefing. Travel and per diem are the participant's responsibility. The session is for leadership and decision-making-under-pressure training: it does not constitute flight instruction and does not log hours toward any pilot license or rating.

Participants outside Costa Rica

Simulator sessions are scheduled around the participant's travel to the country, or replaced with a facilitated scenario following the same briefing, execution and debriefing structure.

Route change and interruption

If you move from Route 1 to Route 2 within the first 60 days, everything paid is credited. If for any reason you cannot continue, each case is reviewed individually.

Confidentiality

Nothing worked on is shared with third parties —including the company paying— without the participant's written authorization.

Currency

The Recurrent Program is sustained by two trainings a year. If twelve months pass without one, your Fit to Operate Model lapses — exactly as a pilot's recency of experience does. To revalidate it, one revalidation check is enough: a single recurrent training session. No phase has to be repeated.

Pricing

In US dollars. No additional fees or taxes are added.

For the organization

Train the crew
your mission needs

In aviation the crew trains the emergency long before living it. When it arrives, no one improvises: everyone knows what to do, and the error is caught and corrected before it escalates.

We bring those standards into your organization on the five pillars of Crew Resource Management: communication, teamwork, decision-making, situational awareness and leadership.

Before takeoff

What usually sits behind a first conversation.

No one taught them to lead

They rose into management by being good at their craft. No one along the way taught them to lead people, and today they answer for a team on whatever they picked up as they went.

There is a conflict that will not resolve itself

Two people on the team who do not work together, and the problem is no longer theirs alone: it contaminates the meetings, the decisions and the morale of everyone else.

The climate does not match the course

The talent and the capability are there, but the team does not identify with the mission. And where no one dares to speak, the error is caught late and always costs more.

Change is moving faster than the team

There is growth, an expansion or a transformation on the way. The team has to be ready before it arrives.

The investment is already approved

There is budget to develop the team. What is missing is deciding where to put it.

Much of the return is invisible, because it lives in what did not happen:
the hire that did not go wrong, the project that did not derail,
the course that was not lost.

Briefing

Team diagnostic

The PDA assessment applied to every member —natural talents, drivers and development areas, in data rather than perceptions— plus an interpretation session. Optionally complemented with 360 Feedback, to contrast self-perception with how the team sees them. It is the starting point of every organizational engagement.

Services

Strategic Advisory

Boards and partners

For boards, partners and teams making high-impact decisions, in any profession.

An instructor who takes on the mission as his own — contributing perspective, structure and judgment, without displacing command.

Leadership at Altitude

Team development · up to 12 people per group

The pillars of Crew Resource Management, lived as a team: theory comes alive in professional flight simulators, where every decision the team makes moves the outcome in real time.

Change Radar

Change management

Guidance through change: to get ahead of a transformation that is coming —new technology, expansion, a jump in scale— or to navigate a transition already underway.

As in aviation, the signals appear before the storm: we pick them up early and plot the route before the change turns into turbulence. Teams that embrace the transformation instead of resisting it, and operate better for having lived it.

Recurrent Program · companies

Did the training work,
or was it just completed?

Every six months, your executives who have graduated from the HOPPE System revalidate their standards in a new scenario, harder than the last. Out of that comes the Crew Report: where your leadership group stands across the six observable dimensions, what has moved since the previous period, and where it is drifting.

The report is aggregated and anonymous. Never individual data. That is precisely why it works: no one has an incentive to dress up an assessment that does not name them. The individual report reaches the company only with the participant's written authorization, and always as an input to your own performance review process, never as a replacement for it.

Two formats

Open group · $950 per person per year

Your executives join HOPPE's monthly session alongside leaders from other industries. For the participant that is a real advantage: a network outside their own company, and the freedom to say what they would not say in their internal group.

Private group · $1,500 per person per year

The monthly session is exclusive to your organization, with a tailored topic and internal confidentiality. Minimum six participants.

Both include

Two semiannual revalidations per person per year, one of them in the flight simulator; a one-hour monthly group session; and the semiannual Crew Report. Annual or semiannual billing per participant. Minimum three participants in the open group.

Our program documents, period after period,
the real level of your leadership team.

The process

Every engagement starts with a conversation

1

Coffee with Guillermo

In person or by video call: we talk through the team's situation, where the organization wants to go, and how HOPPE can contribute.

You land with an outside read of your situation.

2

Diagnostic and recommendation

The organization shares the objective or area it wants to work on and the number of participants. With that, we prepare a written proposal with the recommended program.

You land with a proposal built for you.

3

We define the project

We translate the proposal into a project: the scope, the deliverables and the resources it will require. The organization reviews it, confirms the course and authorizes takeoff.

You land with the project's flight plan.

Quotes for bespoke projects are presented exclusive of VAT. The tax is added on the invoice.
